Zester
Terms of Service
By using Zester ("Zester", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Zester.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use Zester. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You may delete your account at any time via in-app Settings.
3. Subscriptions and Payments
Zester offers auto-renewing subscriptions (monthly and annual) and one-time purchases. Payment will be charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your device account settings.
- Free tier: Up to 10 saved recipes with core import features.
- Monthly subscription ($3.99/mo): Unlimited recipes and advanced features.
- Annual subscription ($29.99/yr): Unlimited recipes and advanced features.
- One-time lifetime purchase ($69.99): Unlimited recipes and advanced features for the life of the app.
Prices are in US Dollars and may vary by region. We reserve the right to change prices with notice where required by applicable law.
4. Free Tier
Zester offers a free tier limited to saving 10 recipes. If you exceed this limit without a paid subscription, you will be prompted to upgrade. We reserve the right to modify the free tier parameters at any time with reasonable notice.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of any recipes, notes, images, and other content you create or save in Zester. By submitting content, you grant Zester a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content as needed to provide the service.
You represent that your content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws. Zester may remove content that violates these terms.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Zester for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Attempt to bypass or circumvent any recipe limits, paywalls, or security measures.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access or extract data from Zester without our permission.
- Interfere with the operation of Zester or its backend services.
- Upload malicious code or content that could harm Zester or its users.
7. Third-Party Services
Zester uses third-party service providers for core functionality, including Supabase (database, auth, storage, edge functions), Postmark (transactional email), Supadata (social/video content extraction), OpenRouter (AI processing), and Expo/EAS (app delivery and updates). These services have their own terms and privacy policies.
In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play). Their respective terms govern the purchase and payment process.
8. Intellectual Property
Zester's name, logo, and app design are our trademarks and may not be used without permission. The software and technology powering Zester are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Zester if you violate these terms, create risk of legal liability, or if providing the service becomes impractical in our judgment. You may terminate your account at any time via in-app Settings.
Upon termination, your access to paid features will cease. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
10. Disclaimers
Zester is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that Zester will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. You use Zester at your own risk.
Recipe content imported from external sources is provided for informational purposes. We do not endorse or verify the accuracy of imported content. Nutritional information, if provided, is approximate and should not be considered professional advice.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zester and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide notice (e.g., via email or in-app notification). Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Maricopa County, Arizona.
